ABOUT THE PRACTITIONER
Ian grew up in Alaska. He graduated from the University of Alaska Fairbanks where he raced on the cross-country running and ski teams. Ian interned at the Swedish Winter Sports Research Centre in 2011, where he assisted in the physiology testing and research of elite endurance athletes. His passion for racing grew hand in hand with the constant process of perfecting the body’s endurance, mobility and recovery. Fascinated by fascia, muscle motor points and mobility, Ian studied acupuncture at the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine. After graduating with his Masters of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, in September 2016, Ian volunteered for a two-month residency in Nepal with the Acupuncture Relief Project, practicing primary care. He is also credentialed Sports Medicine Acupuncturist (SMAC). Ian has been practicing orthopedic acupuncture in Portland for 7 years. His treatment style focuses on releasing muscle motor points, Myofascial trigger points with traditional empirical acupuncture points to help the patient resolve old and new  movement patterns and injuries.
